Rindge Historical Society Museum

The museum is open on Wednesdays from 10am until 12 noon, and on the first Saturday of each month from 10am until 2pm, or by appointment for those who would like to visit or are doing research.

The museum’s collection, previously located in the basement of The museum’s collection is housed in the home the town’s library, is now held in the house and barn of the Freeborn Stearns House (c. 1815), which is located near the town center on School Street. The Rindge Historical Society acquired the property from Hazel Allen in 1994.

The museum has an enviable collection of agricultural and industrial artifacts, works of art, maps, books, photographs, diaries and letters dating back to the 18th century. Featured artifacts include the discharge papers of Eleazer Blake signed by George Washington, and the hand painted sleigh of William Dean who was mysteriously murdered in Jaffrey.
